Next Race: Skyjacker JeepSpeed Challenge
At the Nevada 1000 with BITD
July 6-10
If you are thinking
of running in the Skyjacker JeepSpeed Challenge at the Best in the Desert
Nevada 1000 here is some news that should convince you to
be there.
Part of the Skyjacker
sponsorship is buying a segment of the TV show just to feature the JeepSpeed
contestants in the race. Also we are negotiating
with
a British production company for our Jeeps to be part of a new Travel Channel
show entitled “Kings of the Road”.
Ex Jeep Trophy Truck star Curt LeDuc said to remind our racers that the course
out of Tonopah is fairly flat and fast and will not beat up the JeepSpeed cars
like Barstow. It only gets used for the Vegas to Reno and one other race. So
4 days there is like 4 hours in Barstow.
With the special low entry fee of $850 from BITD that is just over $200 a day
to run the most exciting format you can imagine. You can chase with one truck
as everything is close to the highway. A 4 person team with 2 in the race car
switching out with 2 in the chase truck could do it.
Remember, each team only gets one hour a night to prep the racecar before taking
a time penalty. Clever driving in a JeepSpeed car could beat some of the faster
guys who will abuse their equipment.
JeepSpeed has several unfurnished apartments reserved that can house a team
in Tonopah. Please contact JeepSpeed at 714-538-8434 or e-mail [email protected] for more information.

of trails we will be using

Rule Clarification
Number Plate Location
When the JeepSpeed idea was conceived we looked at the most successful models
in motorsport classes and felt that NASCAR and IROC were the best. The cars
looked the best and certainly attracted the most sponsorship. The number plate
location and other decal requirements were designed to give us a uniformity,
which gives us more strength as an organization. Number Plate should be located
on the front doors of the race vehicles. Please see the official rules at www.jeepspeed.com
for complete details. Other mandatory decals are American Racing Wheels Upper
Windshield Banner, BF Goodrich on front fenders and Valvoline on both sides
of the car.
JeepSpeed in the Media
Congratulations to Giti Gowland on the continued running of the Valvoline commercial
featuring his #1763 JeepSpeed Racer. We have been told that it has been aired
on ABC, ESPN, CNN and SPEED.
Way to go Giti!!
Kartek Off Road
had an Open House at their shop in Corona. JeepSpeed had a booth there where
we talked with many wishful racers. By showing them how affordable
JeepSpeed racing can be, we were able to get them to consider racing with
us. Thank you to Bob Ganzer for allowing us to bring out his 2004 Stock class
championship
car to display. Thanks also to Mike Barnett, Bryan Rogers, Steve Ghamari
and Bill Nissley for coming out and promoting the sport.
If your race team has any events coming up that you would like JeepSpeed support
at, please loet us know and we will try to get some supplies sent out to you.
